Ali Gilani condemns illegal detention of Hurriyet leaders in IOK

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has condemned the detention of Hurriyet leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik terming it as the frustration of the authorities.

According to KMS, Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “The mass illegal detention of the pro-freedom people is a worst kind of state terrorism. I express my concern over the re-arrest and use of brutal force against Muhammad Yasin Malik and arrest of Ayaz Akbar and Altaf Ahmad Shah from their houses.” He said that the authorities were was doing these things out of frustration.

He also condemned the continued detention of Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Ghulam Nabi Sumji, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Raja Meraj-ud-Din,Hafiz Bashir Ahmad Farooqi, Muhammad Ashraf Laya, Fayaz Ahmad Dass, Master Ali Muhammad Bandipora, Ashiq Hussain Narchur, Riyaz Ahmad, Muhammad Ayoub Khan, Molvi Bashir Ahmad, Muhammad Amin Sofi Kupwara and dozens of other Hurriyet leaders and activists.

“We were peacefully protesting against the evil designs of India of setting up of Sainik and Pandit colonies and the new industrial policy but the administration by exhibiting the worst kind of state terrorism and by imprisoning the pro-freedom leaders and activists in jails and houses has proved that they have surrendered before the RSS and will do whatever their masters will command them to do,” he added.

“We have to be united in fight against the wicked policies of the communal forces and for this we have to prepare ourselves on every front and if we fail to do so then the Kashmiris will lose everything and they will become strangers in their own land,” he maintained.

Syed Ali Gilani condemned the inhuman and insulting treatment and the use of abusive language against the Tehreek-e-Hurriyet senior leader Moulana Hafiz Bashir Ahmad Farooqi and Master Ali Muhammad Hajan by police in Sumbal,” the statement said.
