Al-Azizia, Avenfield Reference: IHC restores appeals against Nawaz Sharif’s sentence

The Islamabad High Court has reinstated appeals against the conviction of former prime minister and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Azizia and Avonfield references.

In the Islamabad High Court, the appeals against the conviction of Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Azizia and Avenfield reference and the application for Nawaz Sharif’s protective bail were also heard. Heard all the petitions together.

Amjad Parvez Advocate and Azam Nazir Tarar appeared on behalf of Nawaz Sharif, Nawaz Sharif was also present in the court while the Prosecutor General appeared in the court along with the NAB prosecution team.

Prosecutor General NAB said that the moment the petitioner surrendered, he left himself at the mercy of the court.

The Chief Justice inquired whether you want to arrest the appellant.

Prosecutor General NAB said that I have already told about this that we do not want arrest. The Chief Justice said that he is asking you as a judicial assistant, what will be the status of the bail if the appeal is restored?

Prosecutor General NAB said that you should take bail again from the appellant.
