Air strikes hit the last opposition-held town in Syria’s Eastern Ghouta on Friday, a monitor said, the first time since talks for a rebel withdrawal began 10 days ago.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said eight raids hit across the town of Douma, but the monitor did not have immediate information on casualties.

Syria’s state news agency SANA said Syrian air strikes hit the town in response to rebel shelling onto the capital from Douma.
