BAGHDAD: An air strike killed 21 Iraqi pro-government Sunni tribal fighters early on Wednesday in an area south of the country’s militants-held second city Mosul, a commander and a minister said.

The raid hit the fighters around 1:00 am on Wednesday (2200 GMT Tuesday) east of the town of Qayyarah, which was recaptured from the Islamic State group in August, the officials said.
