Former Skipper of Pakistan cricket team Shahid Afridi says, he planned to resigned form captaincy before World T20 but there was no other option available to replace him.
Shahid said if he would have left the leadership before New Zealand tour, so people would say captain ran away.
He expressed these views in an interview. Afridi said Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad must feel their mistakes and should forget the past. They should work hard and earn their place in the team.
The 36-year-old all-rounder said he will work on his fitness in England and would manage to impress the selectors with his form.
It is pertinent to mention here that, Head Coach Waqar Younis and captain Shahid After resigned from their posts when team faced poor defeat in Asia Cup and World T20.
