Kabul: Following months of fued, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Sunday signed a power-sharing farmula with his rival Abdullah Abdullah.
For months, the dispute had plunged the country into political crisis.
Ashraf Ghani’s spokesman Sediq Seddiqqi took to Twitter and said that under the deal, Dr Abdullah will lead the National Reconciliation High Commission and members of his team will be included in the cabinet.
Abdullah Abdullah had earlier served as cheif executive before a defeat in presidential election.
Ashraf Ghani, who also served as an economist at the World Bank, had won in the presidential election in September last year. He was charged with an accusation of fraud in the election.
Meanwhile, the member of Afghan Taliban negotiating team, Bashir Muhammad Abbas, has said that India was playing a negative role in Afghanistan by supporting the Kabul government.
Speaking to foreign media here, Abbas said that India is present in Afghanistan for 40 years but it had always played a negative role there.
The Afghan Taliban leader blamed India for enjoying economic, military and political ties with the corrupt groups in Afghanistan.
He said that the Afghan Taliban may agree to hold talks with India if New Delhi is willing to play a positive role in Afghanistan.
