KABUL: Taliban supreme leader Haibatullah Akhundzada has issued special decree on women’s rights on Friday.
He said that adult women’s consent is necessary for her Nikah. No one can force women to marry by coercion or pressure.

According to the special decree, a woman is not a property, but a noble and free human being. No one give her to anyone in exchange for peace deal and or to end animosity.

It further said that after death of husband, Sharaie Adat (four months and 10 nights or pregnancy) passes, no one can marry a widow by force including her relatives. A widow has the right to whether o marry and or to determine/choose her future.
It is the sharia right of a widow to obtain ‘Mahar’ from her new husband, the special decree said.
It further said that a widow has heritage right and fixed share in property of her husband, children, father and relatives and no one can deprive her of the right.
According to the Taliban supreme leader’s special decree, those with multi marriages (more than one wife) are obliged to give rights to all women in accordance with the sharia law and maintain justice between them.
