German multinational corporation that designs and manufactures sports shoes, clothing and accessories, Adidas has solved the major problem of shoes size thanks to 3D printer.
It’s always hard to find shoes that fit “just right,” but Adidas may have solved the problem thanks to 3D printing.
The company unveiled a new 3D-printed running shoe midsole prototype today called Futurecraft 3D. Using “a unique combination of materials and process,” Futurecraft 3D can be formed to meet a runner’s individual comfort needs.
Adidas images a future where customers can pop into an Adidas store, take a jaunt on a treadmill and have a Futurecraft 3D shoe printed then and there.
The shoe would be a flexible, form-fitted copy of the customer’s foot, one designed around their unique pressure points and contours.
This, as you can image, would lead to an optimal running experience, and we may one day see 3D printers pumping out Futurecraft 3D midsoles in Adidas stores around the world.
