Accountability should begin with PM, family: Opposition

ISLAMABAD: Opposition parties on Monday agreed to begin the accountability process with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family.

A joint declaration refused the government’s terms of references (ToR) for the judicial commission on Panama Leaks. Opposition parties’ consultative meeting concluded without adopting any concrete decision. The meeting will resume tomorrow at 11 a.m.

Opposition parties agreed to make all the corrupts accountable, mentioned in the Panama papers. Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM), Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Awami National Party (ANP) and other parties were present in the meeting.

While taking to the media at the end of the meeting,  PPP senior leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said opposition formed a joint ToR committee and the committee will finalise the ToR tomorrow.  He demanded of the government to consult with opposition before any legislation in connection with the enquiry committee on Panama papers.
