ISLAMABAD: An accountability court in Islamabad on Thursday extended physical remand of foreign office Director Shafqat Cheema till June 13 in cases of human trafficking and accumulated assets beyond known sources of income.
The case was heard in accountability court in Islamabad regarding human trafficking and having assets of more income. During hearing NAB requested that FO director Shafqat’s physical remand further to be extended whereas investigative report has been submitted in court by NAB.
Defence Lawyer said Cheema has been suffering from heart disease, thus physical remand plea should be rejected and transferred him to Jail hospital.
However, court rejected the plea of Cheema’s lawyer for sending accused in Jail on judicial remand and extended the remand till June 13.
