LAHORE: Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) wanted to silence PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz.
Speaking to the media here on Saturday, the PML-N leader said that the anti-graft watchdog was doing politics in the country. NAB blames Maryam Nawaz for speaking against the national institutions, he said, adding that the PML-N leader talks on the national issues.
He said that a petition had been filed in the Lahore High Court to dismiss the bail of Maryam Nawaz.
Abbasi said that the NAB was not an accountability institution but a revenge department. He further said that the national institutions may take action against Maryam Nawaz if she speaks against them.
