ISLAMABAD: As many as two private member bills including the Pakistan Penal Code (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and the Ehtram-e-Ramazan (Amendment) Bill, 2017 were introduced in the Senate on Monday.
Sirajul Haq moved the Pakistan Penal Code (Amendment) Bill, 2016, while Chaudhary Tanvir Khan piloted the Ehtram-e-Ramazan (Amendment) Bill, 2017 in the House.
Senate Chairman referred both the bills to the concerned standing committees for further deliberation.
Meanwhile, the House rejected the bill further to amend the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973 [The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2016] moved by Sirajul Haq with majority votes.
Seven members voted in favor of the bill while 11 members opposed it.
