Panama case: PM’s counsel presents arguments before SC

ISLAMABAD: A five-member bench of the Supreme Court has resumed hearing of the Panama Papers case here on Monday.

Justice Asif Saeed Khosa is heading the larger bench.

Prime minister’s counsel Makhdoom Ali Khan has been presenting his arguments today. He presented several examples of court judgments including Mubashir Hasan’s case before the court. The PM’s counsel observed that Yousuf Raza Gilani was sentenced in the contempt of court case.

Mukhdoom Ali Khan added that all the disqualifications cases were decided after recording witnesses. During the proceedings, Jamaat-e-Islami’s counsel Toufeq Asif approached the rostrum and demanded copies of the cases being cited.

Justice Azmat remarked that the Supreme Court had directly decided the dual nationality cases.

The PM’s counsel observed that the Article 63-1 C was clear on dual nationality.
