BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan: A Turkeys cargo plane crashed here in a village near Bishkek’s Manas International Airport, killing at least 32 on board and on the ground, including six children.
Media reports said MyCargo Airlines cargo plane Boeing 747 took off from Hong Kong for Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek en route to Istanbul.
The plane crashed at 07:31 local time (01:31 GMT) in a village ruining over a dozen houses, local authorities said. At least 28 people including four crew and six children were among the dead, said country’s first deputy prime minister, Muhammetkaly Abulgaziyev.
Sources said that bad weather could be the cause of the crash.
Rescue teams were making efforts to extinguish the fire.
