Fire at rubber godowns renders losses worth millions

PESHAWAR: Rubber goods worth millions of rupees were burnt to ashes due to fire at two godowns here on Thursday.

Rescue sources said that fire initiated due to unknown reasons erupted two rubber godowns in Dir Colony of the provincial capital Peshawar. The fire spread rapidly and engulfed the godowns within not time.

Soon after being informed 50 fire fighters with six fire tenders reached the scene and started operation to extinguish the blaze. The fire was brought control after continuous efforts of more than two hours.

Meantime, rubber goods worth millions of rupees were burnt to ashes rendering huge losses to the owners.
