NA Speaker, Tariq Fatemi visit Iranian Embassy to sign condolence book

ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi visited the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad Tuesday and signed the condolence book to express condolences at the sad demise of Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, the former President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Chairman of the Expediency Council.

The Speaker in his remarks in the condolence book recounted the political and social services rendered by the former President. He said the people and Parliament of Pakistan share the grief of the people of Pakistan. He was among the few foreign leaders who addressed the parliament of Pakistan.

Conveying his heartfelt condolences at the loss of the great Iranian leader, Mr. Tariq Fatemi said that he would be remembered as one of the pioneers of the revolution in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The SAPM said that this was not only a loss of the Islamic Republic of Iran, but also of the Government and the people of Pakistan who revered him as a true friend and well wisher of Pakistan.
