Microsoft to launch 4 Lumia Windows 10 devices this year

WASHINGTON: As everyone is waiting for Microsoft Windows 10 smartphone, now new report recons the company is planning to launch Microsoft Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL as first Windows 10 smartphones.

A year or so after it acquired Nokia’s phone division; Microsoft is finally ready to show us its new family of Lumia devices.

It has two flagship-grade devices and two mid-rangers in the planning, according to Nokia Power User.

The two most interesting new launches are expected to be the Microsoft Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL, a super-sized version, The News Tribe reported.

Rumors point out that the Lumia 940 will feature a 5-inch screen, while the Lumia 940 XL could get a phablet-sized, 5.7-inch screen. Both are expected to continue the tradition of using high-quality cameras, and this time around the two new flagship Lumias are expected to make the jump to a 24-25-megapixel sensor under the PureView brand. Up front, the selfie cam is said to feature a resolution no less than 5 megapixels.

Microsoft is allegedly also planning to give its mid-range a refresh with successors to the Lumia 830 and Lumia 730 affordable phones.

The phones are said to be planned as the Lumia 840 and Lumia 740. The higher-end Lumia 840 is expected to feature a 13-14-megapixel camera with PureView branding, and a 5-inch-ish display. Then, the Lumia 740 is likely to come in an XL-sized version with a large 5.5” to 5.7” screen.
