Former Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Malir Rao Anwar refuted ‘any connection with the report revelation linkage of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and India released by British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).’
Rao Anwar responded the allegations being levelled over him by MQM leaders regarding his role in the report released by BBC here on Wednesday.
The police officer said that he had not gripped the political party over any personal or professional enmity. He said that MQM workers have admitted their links with Indian intelligence agency Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) in their press statement without any pressure.
He added that the arrested persons are on judicial remand so far. He alleged that MQM appointed its activists on different government posts.
Rao Anwar claimed that he has been suspended over revealing realities and truth.
British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) had alleged in its documentary that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is receiving funds from India. BBC quoted two MQM leaders residing in London said that UK authorities who are investigating MQM alleged money laundering case also found list of weapons which are party’s property. It was also revealed that India has trained hundreds of MQM militants over last 10 years.
