COAS Gen Qamar Bajwa pays respect at Roza-e-Rasool (SAW) in Madina

RIYADH: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, who is in Saudi Arabia on a three-day official tour, visited Roza-e-Rasool (SAW) in Madina al-Munawara on Monday.

COAS Gen Qamar Bajwa also offered Nawafil prayers at Riaz-ul-Jannah in Masjid an-Nabawi. He will leave for Makkah today to perform Umrah.

On Sunday Gen Bajwa met with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the ISPR said in a statement.

 “The Saudi king and the Army Chief agreed that both the countries share great history of cordial relations and deep spirit of brotherhood which has transformed into an enduring partnership,” the ISPR statement said.

During the meeting, it was also acknowledged that both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are vital players for regional stability.

Earlier COAS Gen Bajwa also held a meeting with Deputy Crown Prince and Defence Minister Mohammad bin Salman to discuss matters related to mutual interests and bilateral security cooperation.

In the meeting, COAS Gen Bajwa reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the security and protection of the Holy Mosques and also the territorial integrity of the kingdom.
