Corruption and Pakistan cannot go together: Sirajul Haq

MARDAN: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq, on Tuesday said that corruption and Pakistan cannot go hand in hand with each other.” The doors of all institution are closed for poor’s and victims”, he said.

He expressed these views while addressing District Bar Association (DBA) here at bar room. District Bar Association (DBA) President of Ameer Hussain advocate, general secretary Asif Iqbal advocate also addressed the bar. JI district Ameer Dr. Atta-ur-Reham and other district leaders were also present on the occasion.

Siraul Haq said there is no justice in courts, politics and economy of the country. “Every political party should hold accountable the thieves within their own parties,” the JI ameer said. “Rule of law is the only solution of all the crises of the country”, he added.

He said he presents himself and his political party for accountability. “What is a need of assemblies if they don’t make laws to root out corruption from the country,” he added. He said that JI submitted petition in the Supreme Court (SC) about Panama Leaks and also submitted the proposed judicial commission’s terms of reference (ToRs) prepared by the opposition.

The JI asked Supreme Court to not bow to any pressure and ensure the return of national money from corrupt rulers”, he added. “Pakistan stands with the apex court and it should decide the matter purely on merit”, the JI ameer said.

He added: “We wanted that Panama leaks issued will resolve in 2016 but the court extended it to 2017. However the Supreme Court (SC) disappointed him after stopping the Panama Leaks proceeding. “Supreme court wasted 75 days of nation”, he added.

“The Prime Minister could absolve himself when he (PM) had admitted that his children have offshore companies”, he added.  Sirajul Haq said that JI raised its voice before all other parties against the rulers’ corruption.

“Corruption has led to unemployment, illiteracy, lack of health facilities, unavailability of clean drinking water,” he said.

Answering to a question about the PTI challenging the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) issue in the court he strongly criticized and said that PTI government didn’t take in confidence the other parties and in individual status they challenge it.

He added that challenging CPEC in court is wrong decision of PTI. “If court rejected the plea of PTI then what will be their further step” he argued. He added that CPEC issued should be resolved through negotiations instead of going court.

Sirajul Haq added that after Madina Pakistan is the sacred country because it came in to being through ideology of Islam. He added that if this ideology removed from the country this country cannot maintain its existence.

Answering a question about merging Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa he added that all the political parties and people of FATA want to merge in KP, however administration and political agents of FATA and some other elements cannot want to merge it in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and creates hurdles in this connection.

“JI also want to merge FATA in the province because it will increase our resources and also increase our representation in the national assembly”, he added. The JI ameer said that if JI came in power it will declared Pakistan a welfare state.
