Dead body of Junaid Jamshed identified; Funeral prayers in Karachi on Thursday

ISLAMABAD: Singer-turned-preacher Junaid Jamshed was identified on Monday with the help of dental and facial x-rays.

“The body was identified with the help of samples from teeth and x-rays of his face,” said Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Capt (r) Mushtaq Ahmed.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Captain (retd) Mushtaq Ahmad has revealed that the dead body of Junaid Jamshed has been identified and all the arrangements have been made to hand over the dead body to relatives.

The official confirmed that the identification of dead body was made possible through X-ray of the face and also teeth’s history.

On the other hand, initial forensic report of the dead bodies in the air crash has been issued by the officials of Ayub Medical Complex.

According to details, the initial forensic report is composed of 63 pages and also includes the evidences gathered alongside the dead bodies.

The initial report was prepared after the postmortems of the dead bodies.

In addition, the experts of NADRA and surgeons of Ayub Medical Complex and Army Medical Complex took part in the preparation if initial forensic report.

Brother of Junaid Jamshed , Humayun Jamshed has said that he has received the DNA report of his brother who died in Chitral plane crash.

Junaid Jamshed’s funeral prayer will be held at Moin Academy on Thursday. Talking to media here he further said that preparations for Junaid Jamshed’s furnal prayer are on at the Academy though I had visited the National Stadium but there were parking issues there.

He further said that doctors have advised that it would be better to wait for the DNA report and we have decided to wait as per doctors’ advice. As soon as the DNA report is received I would leave for Islamabad, he added.

There are many relatives, acquaintances, and friends in Islamabad but I would receive my brother’s body myself and it would be transported to Karachi through C-130 plane. Junaid Jamshed will be laid to rest at Darul Uloom Korangi, Karachi.
