SC to rehear Panama case as PTI opposes formation of commission

ISLAMABAD: A five-member bench of the Supreme Court resumed hearing of the Panama case on Friday.

Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali asked both the parties about their decision on forming a judicial commission.

PTI’s counsel Naeem Bukhari opposed formation of the commission and said they will boycott the commission if formed.

Sharif family’s counsel Salman Aslam Butt observed they will accept whatever the courts decides regarding forming a commission.

The Chief Justice observed that the Panama case will be reheard from January 2017 as he was set to retire from the office on Dec 30.

Later, the hearing was adjourned until the first week of January 2017.
