PTI failed to present solid evidence in SC: Maryam Aurangzeb

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb lashing out Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said that Imran Khan counsel once again failed to present solid evidence in the court as change of lawyer did not make the case strong.

Talking to media outside the apex court she said that PTI had changed lawyers but the arguments were old ones which did not work therefore court termed their evidence like piece of news papers

She questioned, “Why PTI did not present the documents which were being showed off in TV shows,” adding that the accountability of PM and his family was held in each ruler’s tenure.

She further said that the government has believed in freedom of expression and it is imperative to take the society forward. She said that it is responsibility of the media to follow the code of conduct and media organizations should also define their own code of conducts.

The Minister of State said that under the directives of the Prime Minister legislation is underway for the safety and security of the journalists. She said the draft of the will be sent to the media houses for their input to make it more comprehensive.

She said that an endowment fund will be set up for the welfare of the journalists.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the government is also focusing on the training of the journalists. She all the available resources will be used for the training of the journalists.
