Tamil Nadu, India: India unveils the world’s largest solar power plant having a capacity of 648 MW in Kamuthi.
The country is likely to become the world’s third biggest solar market next year.
The solar plant having a generation capacity of 648 MW has been installed in Kamuthi, Tamil Nadu, over an area of 10 sq/km.
The project is the largest solar power plant at a single location. Earlier, California’s Topaz Solar Farm with a capacity of 550 MW was the largest solar plant.
It took eight months to complete the construction of the solar plant that would produce electricity enough for about 150,000 homes.
