ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah Thursday demanded of the government to give a befitting response to Indian aggression along the Line of Control (LoC).
“We need to give a matching response. India should not get an impression to put us on defensive by targeting civilian population. The entire nation is looking towards the government and the Parliament,” he said this in National Assembly.
Khursheed Shah said India was resorting to aggression to create panic among our people and divert international attention from its atrocities against innocent people of Indian Occupied Kashmir.
“In this scenario we do not need to reserve the right to respond but employ this right and respond with full might to Indian aggression,” he said.
Only statements will not be enough as a response to Indian violence but we also need to be given a telling response, he commented.
“Our forces are more powerful than Indian forces. Therefore, with every act of violence, India should be reminded with more might that Pakistani forces are not weaker to anyone,” Leader of the Opposition said.
Pakistan is a nuclear power and India should not get any message from our restraint that Pakistan is a weaker country, he warned.
“Neither, our Parliament nor people or forces are weaker. We have all the strength to defend our motherland,” Khurshid Shah said.
He said India had violated LoC 230 times to target our forces and people and if tendency continues then efforts for peace in the region would bear no fruit.
He said India was resorting to disrupt regional peace and it was not appropriate that we continued to suffer losses of lives in the name of restraint.
He also demanded of the government not to participate in Heart of Asia Conference being held in India and make efforts across the world to aware global community on Indian atrocities against Kashmiri people and aggression across LoC.
