LAHORE: Foreign Affairs Director of the Australian government Dr Leon Sendable, called on the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch, on Tuesday and discussed with him the relations between Pakistan and Australia, besides the situation in Kashmir and Bangladesh. She was accompanied by the First Secretary of the Australian High Commission, in the Punjab capital, Miss Emma Leahey.
At the meeting, the JI Secretary General urged the world community to intensify its pressurize on India for the grant of the right of self-determination to the Kashmiris in accordance with the UN resolutions. He said that the atrocities of the Indian troops in Held Kashmir had crossed all limits and must be stopped.
He said that the foreign interference in Kashmir, Palestine, Syria and Afghanistan, should be stopped and all these issues should be resolved justly and on humanitarian grounds. He said that world peace was possible only with the change in the attitude of the world powers.
He also stressed that the world community should break its silence over the brutalities of the Dhaka regime over the Islamic leadership in the country.
Liaqat Baloch told the Australian guests that the JI was totally against terrorism by an individual, a group, any party or state and even international terrorism. He said that the terrorist activities in this country were only due to foreign interference. He said that the entire nation was united on the NAP against terrorism and the armed forces were fighting against the menace in a commendable manner. He said that the world powers should not carry on genocide only to thrust their political or economic agenda on others.
The JI central leader termed Australia- Pakistan relations as highly important and said the cooperation in the fields of education and technology, economy and sport s could be more useful for the region and the masses of the two countries.
