Rangers arrest 12 in fresh Karachi raids

KARACHI: Rangers personnel nailed at least 12 suspected criminals during a targeted search operation in Karachi’s Liaquabad in Thursday’s wee hours.

The sources said the rangers overnight launched the action in Liaquatabad near Sindhi Hotel and arrested 12 suspects including political activists. The sources said the rounded up suspects include workers of a political party.

In a separate operation two vital criminals hailing from a political party were arrested by law-enforcers during separate raids in Malir and Korangi.

The sources said the arrested outlaws are Mehmood alias Sannata and Haroon Commando. Both the felons are said to be involved in multiple killings and extortion mafia activities in Karachi.

The sources said Mehmood alias Sannata confessed to having killed 250 people in Karachi. The sources also said Haroon is in-charge of east zone’s death squad.
