WASHINGTON: American carrier Amazon is offering HTC One M9+ and One E9+ in the US.
Both the One E9+ and One M9+ (which are HTC’s first Quad HD smartphones) run Android Lollipop and are offered unlocked. The latter is the most expensive among the two, costing $799.
The One M9+ is available in gunmetal gray and silver gold from Amazon.
Just like the One M9 that’s officially available in the US (and in many other markets), the One M9+ is made out of metal. But it’s larger than the regular One M9, as it sports a 5.2-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixels. The One M9+ further features a fingerprint scanner, a 20 MP Duo rear camera, 4 MP UltraPixel front-facing camera, an octa-core MediaTek MT6795T processor, 3 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of expandable storage space.
The M9+ that Amazon is selling is compatible with the 3G networks of AT&T and T-Mobile, but doesn’t work on Verizon and Sprint, and doesn’t have US LTE.
The One E9+ is even larger than the M9+, having a 5.5-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixels. However, the E9+ is made out of plastic, this being one of the reasons why it’s cheaper: $499 (no US warranty, unfortunately).
The One E9+ doesn’t have a Duo rear camera, and neither a fingerprint scanner, but the rest of its features aren’t too different from those of the M9+ (including support for the same 3G bands, but no US LTE).
