First trade caravan from China reaches Pakistan through CPEC route

GWADAR: The first trade caravan carrying Chinese goods reached Gwadar via the western-route of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on Saturday.

Pakistan Army escorted the 50-truck caravan that travelled through Khunjerab.

The Chinese goods will be exported to different countries through Gwadar port.

The caravan left China on 31 October and reached Gwadar in 11 days which otherwise would have taken 45 days.

A ceremony marking the opening of trade activities through the corridor will be held on Sunday, which will attended by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri and ambassadors of 15 countries
