ISLAMABAD: Member Balochistan Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Justice (r) Shakeel Ahmed Baloch on Monday administered oath to the member from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Justice (r) Mrs Irshad Qaiser to act as acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) in absentia of the CEC as per Article-217 of the Constitution.
According to ECP, in pursuance of the visit of the Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan, member Sindh and member Punjab to attend GEO conference in Washington USA, the commission has delegated its power to the acting Chief Election Commissioner and member Balochistan in terms of section 4 of the Representation of People Act, 1976.
