Punjab govt provides tablet computers to students at eight schools

LAHORE: Under the e-learning system in Punjab, students at eight government schools have been provided with tablet computers in the first phase. 

Now students at these schools are studying their science curriculum through video stories on these tablets.

Students of secondary classes (from VI to X) now can study mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics on SIM-based tablets. Lectures are available in both Urdu and English languages.

E-learning libraries can also be accessed through the tablets.

Under the e-learning programme, the Punjab education department will provide 54,000 schools in the province tablets and smart devices with the view to replace books and heavy school bags.

 

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has converted curriculum of grade 6  to 10 into digital format.
