Twin cities witness low gas pressure

ISLAMABAD: The various parts of twin cities Islamabad and Rawalpindi – Tuesday witnessed low gas pressure.

The local domestic consumers complained to this scribe, the people were suffering from the low gas pressuer with the advent of winter season especially at breakfast time.

The resident of Sectors G-9/1, G-13/4 and G-8 of the federal capital and Chakri Road, Niazi Mohallah, Dhamial Road, Ashraf Colony and Tench Bhata of Rawalpindi were facing problem of low gas pressure.

“The winter season has not completely set in yet but the annual low gas pressure tension has gripped them before the time”, they opined.

When contacted, an official of Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) gave the ready-made answer on the issue that the complaints of low gas pressure were common in the winter season due to increased gap between the demand and supply.

However, he said, the company was making efforts to redress complaints of gas consumers on priority.

He advised the consumers to avoid excessive use of gas appliances like heaters and geysers to ensure improved supply of the commodity in winter season.

It was worth mentioning here that, the country’s total gas production was around four bcfd (billion cubic feet per day) against the demand of eight bcfd gas.
