Alkhidmat praised for its service to humanity

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman hailed the services of Alkhidmat and termed the JI’s welfare wing as role model for other non governmental organizations.

He expressed these views on Tuesday while inaugurating a pharmacy and laboratory and collection unit facilities.

He said that a large number of NGOs have been working in the society with massive funds but the services rendered by Alkhidmat are matchless.

The JI leader said that Alkhidmat’s services range from hospitals to orphan homes and fumigation spray campaigns to provision of potable water.

He said that provision of health facility is among basic obligations of a government but the deteriorating situations of government run hospitals is evident on the inability of the ruling regime. He added due to the dismal situation of public health sectors, Alkhidmat has founded health facilities in Gulshan-e-Memar Zone, like other parts of the city.

On the occasion, he raised the issue of fake medicines and said that as per conservative estimates some 40 percent medicines available in the city are fake and counterfeit.

Terming the situation alarming, he demanded of the interior ministry to take notice of the issue and take strict action against all those involve in this heinous crime against humanity.
