Fire erupts in Lahore superstore

LAHORE: An intense fire broke out at the first floor of a multi-storey departmental store in Liberty Market, Lahore, rescue officials said Monday.

As many as eight fire tenders were busy extinguishing the fire, which according to the owner of the building, erupted due to short-circuit at 5:30 am.

Rescue workers were trying to evacuate the building as fire had spread to the second floor as well. However, owner of the building said nobody was living at the second floor.
