ISLAMABAD: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Revenue Ali Amin Gandapur has claimed false allegations are being leveled against him regarding possession of arms and liquor.

Talking to media, Ali Amin said police were resorting to violence against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers. “I can undergo a medical test and prove in the court that I was carrying honey and not liquor.” Gandapur added, “The district police officer (DPO) leveling the allegation should also undergo a test to prove he has not been drinking.”

“Is this democracy to stop political workers and subject them to violence,” the firebrand provincial minister told media as he reached Bani Gala.

Bhara Kahu police booked Gandapur late Sunday evening for possession of unlicensed firearms and liquor. The items were retrieved by police from the minister’s vehicle outside PTI chairman Imran Khan’s residence in Bani Gala on Sunday.
