KP Finance Minister welcomes PM’s announcement of benefiting CAS from CPEC

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Minister for Finance, Muzaffar Said advocate has welcomed the prime minister’s announcement of benefitting the Central Asian States (CAS) from China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) during 15th moot of Central Asian Republics Economic Cooperation (CAREC).

The minister said Malakand Division has to be included in CPEC for this purpose as CAS states can only be linked with Pakistan through Chitral via Wakhan strip of Afghanistan.

He was talking with media personnel at Talash during mass contact visit of his constituency in Dir Lower.

He said Malakand Division was in closest vicinity of Pak-China border and KP government was spending largely on improving highway infrastructure in these areas such as Swat Motorway and focus was required on its development.

The minister suggested Indus Highway from Peshawar to Dera Ismail Khan and Railway Track from Peshawar to Rawalpindi as well as energy projects to become part of CPEC.

He emphasized the need for starting work on Chashma Lift Bank Canal.

He said menace of terrorism can be eliminated by providing employment opportunities to youth.

He said the cooperation of centre would be welcomed in production of electricity from natural gas in Karak and Kohat.
