Govt discusses strategy with PPP ahead of PTI protest

PML-N, PPP agreed on constitutional amendments

ISLAMABAD: A three-member Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) committee met with a delegation of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and discussed different political and national issues including Panama Papers’ probe and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s upcoming protest in Islamabad.

Government committee consisting of Khawaja Saad Rafique, Mir Hasil Bizenjo and Ishaq Dar  met with PPP delegation at the residence of Leader of Opposition Khursheed Shah.

Sources said that during the meeting, a wide range of national and political issues came under discussion, such as the Panama Leaks probe and PTI’s upcoming ‘Islamabad Lockdown’ protest. The terms of reference demanded by the opposition parties was also talked about in detail by the participants.

The PPP representatives said that the party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had based his demands from the government on four points. These demands they termed as PPP’s roadmap.

“Only through this roadmap can everyone move forward,” they were quoted as saying.
