KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi spokesperson Zahid Askari said that the people of Karachi are well aware of those who serve and city and who tarnished the glow of the city of lights.
He was commenting on the statement of Governer Sindh Eshrat-ul-Ebad , saying that Karachi was significantly developed only during the tenure of Nematullah Khan.
The JI spokesperson said that those responsible for the distruction of the city have exposed each other.
He added that it was the services of Nematullah Khan which transformed the city and brought back its lost glory. He said that the city enjoyed international standards under his leadership.
Almost projects inaugurated during the tenure of Nematullah Khan’s successors had been outlined by the Father of the City’s tenure. He added that not only the pace of projects were slowed but several significant projects, including K-4 were ruined. Not even a single project was initiated by the descendants, he said.
He further said that the JI always served the city and would do so in future, whenever provided with an opportunity. He urged people to support JI for the future of the city.
The JI spokesperson asked the governor to reveal the facts that hindered the saga of development and progress of Karachi. He also demanded of the government to probe the allegations leveled by former and current MQM leaders against each other.
