ISLAMABAD: The government on Wednesday evolved a comprehensive strategy to foil the Islamabad shutdown plan by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on November 2.

The government has started to take several options under consideration. Prior to sit-in, the PTI top leaders including Chairman Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jehangir Tareen and the President of Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rashid could be detained.

In this connection, crackdown will be held on the PTI activists to prevent them from going towards Islamabad for shutdown.

The Punjab and Special Branch police have prepared lists of active PTI workers and raid would be held on their houses and other ‘havens’ for their arrest.

Sources said that government rest house would be vacated for leaders while workers would be sent to the Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi. They said that people from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab would not be allowed to enter Islamabad for protest.

In this regard, Federal Information Minister Parvez Rashid told the agency that no one would be allowed to take law into hand and strict action would be taken against the violators.
