KARACHI: Excise and Taxation Department Larkana has recovered a huge quantity of charas and arrested two accused while a truck was also impounded.
According to details during a drive against drug peddlers, initiated on the directives of provincial minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla, a team of E&T department Larkana, headed by officers Qurban Ali Shaikh, Ali Ahmed Abbasi and Ahmed Ali searched a truck bearing no C 1339 at Larkana bye pass Ratodero and found 920 kilogram Charas was hidden in small sacks.
The Excise and Taxation team arrested two accused Aman ullah and Abid Shah resident of Charsada KPK and the truck was impounded as well.
A case has been registered against them and the investigations are under way. Meanwhile the minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla has appreciated the performance of the E&T team and expressed his commitment that the campaign against drug peddlers will continue and the province will be made a drug free province.
