Saudi Air Chief passes away

JEDDAH: Lieutenant General of Saudi Air Force, Mohammad Al-Shaalan passed away due to heart attack, local media reported on Thursday.

Ministry of Defense, he was on an official tip outside the kingdom when he suffered a heart attack and passed away.

Al-Shaalan served the Royal Air Force in various capacities, including as deputy commander.

King Abdullah appointed him as the commander on May 14, 2014, after promoting him to the rank of lieutenant general from major general.
