ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office spokesman says India is nervous because of diplomatic offensive by Pakistan to expose New Delhi over situation in Occupied Kashmir.
During his weekly news briefing in Islamabad Friday, Nafees Zakaria said ceasefire violations on Line of Control and interference in the internal affairs of neighbours are indicative of Indian nervousness.
The spokesman regretted that India was obstructing dispatch of fact-finding mission by UN Human Rights Council to Occupied Kashmir.
He said the claim of surgical strikes is one of the many lies that India has been telling to the world community. He said its objective was to divert attention of the world from gross human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir.
Nafees Zakaria said India media reported many things against facts and credit goes to Pakistani media for exposing it.
He said Pakistan has very effectively taken up the situation in Kashmir at all levels. He said it will continue to highlight Indian atrocities and human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir at world fora. He also reiterated Pakistan’s political, moral and diplomatic support for the just cause of Kashmiris.
The FO spokesman said Prime Minister’s envoys Mushahid Hussain and Dr Shahzia had met with the United Nations General Assembly president and a dossier had been submitted of human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
According to Zakaria, the PM’s envoys had highlighted the Kashmir issue on the global stage. The spokesman called on the international community to take notice of the human rights violations.
The spokesman further said Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir issue was supported by Turkey, while a dossier had also been given the British government by Pakistan’s High Commissioner.
The spokesman said Pakistan High Commissioner to UK handed over dossier on human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir to the UK special representative on Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Foreign Office Spokesman said Indian obstinacy is the main hurdle in the way of implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir. He said India is constantly violating the UN resolutions on Kashmir and charter of world body.
He said Pakistani media exposed to Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) bringing paid demonstrators to an anti-Pakistan protest in Geneva.
“Pakistani media exposed the fabricated propaganda of Indian media,” Zakaria said.
He added the Pakistani media had also been highlighting the issue of Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
“Pakistan is not being isolated internationally. All this is propaganda,” the spokesman said, adding that Pakistan enjoys brotherly relations with all countries.
He added that Indian leaders have on record accepted spreading terrorism in Pakistan.
The spokesperson said that India is using Afghan soil to carry out terrorist activities in Pakistan. All national institutions are on the same page when it comes to eliminating terrorism, the Foreign Office spokesman added.
Nafees Zakrai added that the story by Dawn journalist Cyril Almeida was based on assumptions, a fact that the reporter himself accepts in the story.
To a question, he said there is growing national consensus in the country to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestation. He said there is zero tolerance on terrorism and he said Pakistan is carrying out indiscriminate action against all terrorists.—APP
