Three transformer thieves held in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Oct 10 (INP): Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad Police has arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in taking away electric transformers from various areas of the city in past, the police said.

According to details, Islamabad police received some complaints about theft of transformers in various areas following which a special team was constituted by SP (Investigation) Muhammad Ilyas under the supervision of DSP CIA Bashir Noon.

This team including Inspector Qasim, ASIs Haider Shah, Gul khan and others worked hard and succeeded to nab three accused involved in theft of transformers theft. SIU team also recovered an electric transformer of 50 KV and a Mazda truck from their possession.

They have been identified as Shahbaz, Adnan and Ashraf who confessed during preliminary investigation to take away transformers from various areas in Koral, Tarlai,  Shehzhad town, Khan Pul and Ali Pur. They confessed to commit similar thefts in various areas of District Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Lahore.

Further investigation is underway from him and SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has announced commendation certificates as well cash prizes for police team as their encouragement.
