Politics of protest, sit-ins to weaken state: Pervaiz

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Saturday said Pakistan was facing big challenges and the politicsof protest and sit-ins would weaken the state.

Rejecting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s demands over the election of new Prime Minister, he said the culture of agitation and chaotic politics should not be promoted in the country.

Talking in private TV programme, the minter said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif enjoys full confidence andsupport of the Parliament.

He said PTI had filed petition in the Supreme Court and it should wait for its verdict but it wanted to impose its own decision before the court’s decision.

The proceedings on the case of charity against PTI was in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) which was filed by itssenior leader and now PTI was seeking adjournment of the case.

He said PTI leaders were habitual to raising hue and cry and would go to their homes without achieving anything like they did in Raiwand march.

Pervaiz Rashid said if PTI had trust in courts and laws of the land then it should face such laws. PTI lawyers should give answer with legal arguments and evidences.

He said the Prime Minister had addressed the National Assembly and countered all the allegations leveled by his opponents and presented his financial history, however many peopl ewere already aware of it.
