TOKYO: Tokyo shares fell Friday morning after four days of gains, as a plunge in the pound and caution ahead of a key US jobs report dented buying sentiment.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.18 percent, or 30.01 points, to 16,869.09 by the break, while the broader Topix index of all first-section issues fell 0.31 percent or 4.16 points to 1,349.77.
