ISLAMABAD: The all-important meeting of all Parliamentary Groups leaders convened by the Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif will be held today (Monday) to give a strong, clear and loud message of unity and to defend the motherland at any cost to the war mongering Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet ministers.

All the political parties represented in the Parliament have accepted the invitation as according to them despite political differences, the entire nation is united when it comes to the defence and integrity of the country.

The meeting has been convened in the back drop of Indian threats of surgical strike, revocation of Indus Water Treaty and to isolate Pakistan at the international level.

The Prime Minister took the decision to take leaders of political parties into confidence about the developing situation at the borders after he got extensive briefings from the military authorities and the foreign office after return from New York where he strongly advocated the Kashmir issue at the UN General Assembly.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also arrived to attend the much important meeting of political leaders for the first time as he has been asked by his father and former President Asif Ali Zardari to lead the party’s delegation.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif telephoned Mr Zardari on Saturday and extended him the invitation for the meeting.

PTI chief Imran Khan, who is strong critic and opponent of the Prime Minister has nominated Shah Mahmood Qureshi to attend the meeting while ANP’s Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour will represent his party. Other parties will be led by their parliamentary leaders.

Political analysts say that the meeting will extend whole hearted support to the armed forces on behalf of the nation and send a categorical message to India that the whole nation was united against any aggression and it must avoid any mischief.
