KARACHI: The Sindh High Court Wednesday declared the suspension of Bol license by PEMRA illegal allowing the channel to launch transmission.
During the case hearing, Justice Zulfiqar Ahmad called the cancellation of the license as illegal ordering PEMRA and concerned authorities to allow Bol network to resume transmission. The license was canceled by the PEMRA complaint cell. Employees linked to the media giant felt ecstatic after the decision mulling for the re launch of channel.
Earlier, a local court ordered to re-open the sealed accounts of the IT company Axact on immediate basis. The Axact scandal surfaced in May 2015 when The New York Times published a detailed article that alleged Shaikh’s company sold fake degrees, diplomas and certificates online through hundreds of fictitious online academic institutions, minting huge money.
Subsequently, Axact’s CEO and major company officials were arrested, its offices were sealed, and an investigation begun based on the serious allegations leveled by the NYT. —INP
