PPD issued six stamps during this year

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Postal Department (PPD) issued six stamps during this year to commemorate special historical and natural events in first eight month of this year.

The first stamp was issued on February 10, on completion of 50 years of Safe Operation of 1st Nuclear Re-Search Reactor in Pakistan Commemorative Postage Stamp. The size of the stamp is 30.5×40.5 mm and the denomination is Rs. 50, an official of PPD told APP. The second stamp was issued on March 22, on Water Conservation (Water) commemorative stamp with the message “Water is life: Start Conserving It”. Size of the stamp is 60×30.5mm and its denomination is Rs. 8. The third stamp was issued on April 22 on National Book Day with the message, `Books leads to Peace’. The size of the stamp is 35×50.5mm and its denomination is Rs. 8. Forth stamp was issued on April 26, to give tribute to an important personality in the history of Pakistan Dewan Bahadur S.P.Singha. The size of the stamp is 40.5×40.5 and its denomination is Rs. 10. The firth stamps was issued on May 21, to mark the establishment of 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. The size of the stamp is 50.5×35.00mm and its denomination is Rs. 8. The last stamp issued so far is in the memory of great social worker Adul Sattar Edhi on August 14. The size of the stamp is 40x41mm and its denomination is Rs. 20.—APP
