SWABI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq nationals resources were trusts of all Pakistanis but not a personal property. He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of Swabi-Swat motorway at Col. Sher interchange on Thursday.
Sirajul Haq said it won’t be allowed to neglect others provinces by empowering development moves in only one province. He criticised the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over preferring his sibling and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his foreign visits by neglecting other chief ministers. He urged PM to maintain equality between all provinces by rejecting political differences, otherwise feeling of deprivation amongst provinces which could result to shatter national unity.
Siraj said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province has capacity of generating 40 megawatt electricity but the federal government neglected the capabilities that could increase power supplies. He said the negligence forced national to pay Rs18 per unit of electricity which could be purchased against Rs2 per unit.
The JI chief urged to connect Swabi motorway to Central Asian states and China to transfer development and prosperity to the locals. Siraj recommended the government to include Gilgit Swat, Chitral and Hazara and Peshawar in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) routes.
The ceremony was also addressed by KP Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak and provincial communication minister. Speaker KP assembly Asad Qaiser, JI KP chapter chief Mushtaq Ahmed Khan and KP minister for local bodies Inayatullah Khan were also present in the ceremony.
Siraj said KP government with strong coalition partners showed a new path to the World while inauguration of Swabi motorway was biggest achievement of the provincial authorities. He further said the project will provide development fruits to the locals of Chitral, Gilgit and Skardu while it will open transportation and trade opportunities from Malakand to China and Asian states besides opening doors of employments.
The JI Ameer revealed that five spots in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could be transformed into best tourism destinations which could host 50 million tourists annually and add billions of dollars into national treasury. Developments of the areas will provide opportunities to Pakistanis and foreigners instead of searching employments in Western and Gulf countries, he added. Siraj said Pakistan has ability to get rid of hefty loans of International Monetary Fund (IMF) if initiated target-oriented projects.
JI chief pointed the federal and provincial governments for an opportunity to form a bigger economic route by connecting Peshawar-Chitral and Gilgit-Shandur areas to motorway to reach Tajikistan which also benefit a secure Siachen region. The plan could generate a bigger market by connectivity of Pakistan to Tajikistan and other central Asian countries to touch a record making development and prosperity levels within next five-ten years.
He complained that the governments initiated many development projects but it buried under files while late implementation increased actual costs of the projects. He pointed that more than 50 development projects initiated 10 years ago but left incomplete yet. He announced to complete Swabi-Swat motorway within 1.5 years of time.
While detailing performance of the provincial government, Sirajul Haq highlighted that the coalition government made efforts to establish peace across the province through supremacy of law.
He added that a major reduction was recorded in corruption across the province while various projects were completed in record time which were put on delay for many years. He aimed that whole KP province will set example for becoming most peaceful part of the country. Siraj demanded the federal government to solve the issues of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) on priority basis and establishment of educational institutions in tribal areas. He also demanded to restore infrastructure of tribal parts which were destroyed in result of military operation.
While addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Pervaiz Khattak on Thursday alleged that the routes of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor were secretly finalised without gaining opposition parties into confidence.
KP CM said that Swat motorway is an important project in the province whereas he said that the Metro bus plan worth Rs 32 billion would soon be initiated in Peshawar with the collaboration of China.
He also alleged that CPEC was hidden from the opposition parties like it was the project of government’s relatives.
On the other hand, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Siraj-ul-Haq also lashed out at the government and asked the Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif to take Perviaz Khattak along with him on visits abroad to secure major projects for the province.
