KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaqat Baloch has said that the seminary students are among those who are acting as the first defence line of Pakistani ideology and the Islamic identification of Pakistan.
He expressed these views on Wednesday while addressing a convention entitled “Security of Ideology of Pakistan Convention”, being held by Jamiat Talaba Arabia at Jamia Masjid Noman at the Federal B Area of Karachi.
Addressing the seminary students, he said that Pakistan was created under the Islamic ideology while some so-called secular elements are trying to rip off the country of its Islamic identity. He hoped that such elements would never be succeeded as almost population of Pakistan is pro-Islamic.
He further said that the need of the hour is to ensure supremacy of law in the country and to implement Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution, in its letter and spirit.
The JI leaders also strictly criticized Muttahida Qaumi Movement and its chief Altaf Hussain for abusing Pakistan. He also said that international powers including the United States and Israel with the help of India are attempting to create problems for Pakistan.
He praised JTA for their positive role among religious circles as well as the society.
Dr. Muzamil Iqbal Hashmi of Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JUD), Allama Qazi Ahmed Noorani, Molana Obaid-ur-Rehman Abbasi also addressed the convention.
They urged the seminary students to play their due role in the society and criticized the government for devising illogical policies for religious seminaries without their consultation.
